Note: Generations 3-7 lived in Killymurry, County Monaghan, Ireland, with title to Killymurry belonging to Generations 4-7. is believed but not absolutely proven to be a direct lineage, but they are doubtless of the same family.  In addition, Generations 4-5 are proven by original documentation of the period to be a direct paternal relationship, and Generations 5-7 almost certainly represent a direct lineage given that the man in Generation 7 sold the property owned and passed down by Generation 4.

Generation 6

John Widney of Killymurry

JOHN WIDNEY was born between 1725 and 1730 in Killymurry, County Monaghan, Ireland.  He was the son of James Widney II and his wife, Ann Carlisle.  His date of birth is deduced from his parents' marriage and the known birth date of his own eldest child.  His wife was Mary Wilson of Ballybay, County Monaghan.1/  She was born about 1732 and died about 1790.  Dr. Linn wrote that his 2nd-great-grandparents were James Widney and Mary Wilson; but marriage bonds were registered for John Widney and Mary Wilson in the Clogher Diocese, which covers County Monaghan, in 1751. That marriage took place just two years before the birth of Dr. Linn's Widney great-grandfather.2/
